Instagram artist steppingthroughfilm connects the imaginary reality of cinema with our ordinary reality

Thomas Duke, also known as steppingthroughfilm, has 150,000 followers on his Instagram account and is a London-based artist who connects the non-existent truth of cinema with our traditions and real lives.Since 2017, he has been working with the concrete of famous paintings. He has also ventured into finding concrete passages. He captures them by juxtaposing photographs of specific scenes with the film environment.

The artist's work is precise and detailed

The artist thinks carefully about subtle nuances, edges and correct perspectives. They do this in such a way that the boundaries between reality and the world of film are completely blurred. Since he began this adventure, the Duke has visited some 150 cinemas, most of them in London. These are the places where he has shot some of the most famous scenes from famous films such as Harry Potter, The Avengers, The Joker, Bridget Jones's Diary and The Devil Wears Prada.

"I've always loved film. Film allowed me to escape all my problems and enter a wonderful world. So I thought it would be perfect and fun to explore all the places where the magic was born." And we still love doing it.
